Predicted high tides at NOAA station 8722937, ft above NAVD88, in local time. Pulled from the NOAA CO-OPS API on 2026-10-31. Mean higher-high water at this station is 0.45 ft NAVD88. [5]
Assumptions and sources. Data: NOAA CO-OPS tide predictions, station 8722937 (Ft. Lauderdale, Andrews Avenue Bridge), high and low tides, NAVD88, feet, local standard or daylight time, fetched live in your browser.[7] This station provides predictions only, because NOAA lists it as removed in 2022.[2] Predictions assume average weather. The city notes prolonged onshore wind or low barometric pressure can produce higher levels than predicted and offshore wind or high pressure lower levels.[3] "City king tide window" marks dates inside the city's 2026 list.[1] The gap column is wall elevation minus predicted height and ignores wind, rain, surge, waves and sea level changes, so it is not a flood forecast. If the live data cannot load, the seasonal table remains.

2026 high-tide calendar from two agencies

SourceDates
City of Fort Lauderdale, predicted king tidesSept 10 to 13; Sept 26 to Oct 1; Oct 7 to 13; Oct 24 to 31; Nov 5 to 11; Nov 22 to 28; Dec 24 to 25. Also flagged for possible inundation: Apr 17 to 19, May 15 to 19, Aug 11 to 14, Dec 5 to 8.[1][8]
South Florida Water Management District, east coast high tide windowsSept 24 to Oct 15; Oct 22 to Nov 12; Nov 22 to 29; Dec 22 to 27. Annual maximum predicted peak Oct 27, 2026. The district also publishes weekly Tidal Outlooks that account for wind and other conditions.[9]
The two agencies define windows differently, so the dates do not match exactly. The city has not published a 2027 list that we could verify, so the tracker only flags windows for 2026.

What to do before, during and after

These are the city's own suggestions, grouped by when to act.[10]

WhenSteps
Before the seasonInspect your seawall and, if it overtops during king tides, elevate it to the city standard; consider flood barriers; install check valves on private drainage; raise panels, water heaters and appliances; verify flood insurance; sign up for city alerts.
During high tidesKnow the day's tides and plan travel around them; do not drive through flooded streets; move trash carts to safe places; boaters should remember high tides lower clearance under fixed bridges.
AfterPhotograph and note any overtopping or soil loss behind your wall and report clogged storm drains to the city. A seawall that overtops repeatedly may be contributing to road flooding; the city says it cites owners in that situation.[11]

Seawall height, deadlines and permits are covered on our sister site: Fort Lauderdale seawall height ordinance guide.

Common questions

What is a king tide?

It is an unusually high tide. The city explains that king tides are predicted on at least 40 days of 2026 and that rainfall, wind and a high water table can push water higher than predicted.[1]

Why does this tracker show predictions, not live water level?

NOAA's metadata lists station 8722937 as removed in February 2022, and a water level request returns no observed data, so the station provides predictions only.[2] Observed levels can differ from predictions with wind, pressure and rain.[3]

What does NAVD88 mean here?

NAVD88 is the vertical datum used for elevations, including the 5 foot minimum top elevation the city requires for new seawalls.[4] Predicted heights on this page use the same datum, so you can compare a surveyed wall top to a predicted high. NOAA lists mean higher-high water at this station as 0.45 ft NAVD88.[5]

Is my seawall high enough?

That question is about seawall height rules, which we cover on our main site: Fort Lauderdale seawall height ordinance guide. This page only shows predicted tide heights.
